Greek Festival Description

Experience a fantastic weekend of Big Greek Hospitality! Right here in Niles, you can sample the scents, sounds and especially tastes of a Greek village festival. Have you ever seen lamb roasting on an open spit? If you answered no, then you certainly have never tasted freshly roasted lamb! Well that can all change, because roasted lamb is the first thing you'll see upon entering the main grounds of the fest! And when was the last time you had homemade pastitso, mousaka, tyropita, or spanakopita? At our festival, all of the food is homemade and you can smell the souvlaki and Athenian chicken on the grills all across the grounds. After dinner, enjoy a variety of authentic Greek pastries, just be sure to save room for the fest specialty, Loukoumathes! The food is something that everyone will enjoy, but do you want to know how some of the finest Greek dishes are made? Then attend one of the Greek cooking demonstrations being held each night. You can also view our beautiful films of the historic Acropolis, Mediterranean sun, and the scenic Grecian Isles. Also each night, for your entertainment, you can enjoy live Greek music and an authentic Greek Dance Troupe.

We haven't forgotten about the children! Parents and children are invited to our "Kid's Korner" -a secure area where parents can bring their children to play and enjoy family friendly entertainment, face painting, crafts, a clown balloon artist, games and much more! We also welcome you to enter our church and see the beautiful, hand-carved woodwork and classic Byzantine iconography.

Guided tours of the church are offered that provide an explanation of its traditional Byzantine architecture. Festival Chairmen George Anastasiadis, Bill Bozikis and Tom Andrews extend a heartfelt invitation to you and to your family and friends!

Admission is only $2.00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for adults. Senior citizens are $1.00 and children are free. There's plenty of free parking and a complimentary sip of wine at the gate. Plan to come and experience Greek hospitality at its finest!
