Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ August 6

Feast Day: August 6

⛪ The Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ is one of the Great Feasts of the Greek Orthodox Church and honors the transfiguration, or metamorphosis, of Christ on Mount Tabor, when he appeared in His divine glory before the Apostles Peter, James, and John. It reveals the divinity of Christ, showing Jesus as the fulfillment of the Law of Moses and the Prophets.

Jesus and his three apostles went up high on a mountain where Jesus is transfigured into radiant glory, his essence shining with bright rays of light.

The blessing of fruits on this day include grapes, figs, pomegranates, pears, mulberries, peaches, and almonds.
